Chapter: 1748
“It truly pains me to see you like this."
Rosa gazed at her and remained silent.
June wiped her tears.
“I know you're blaming me, but... I had no other option. Without that decision at that time, Libby would..."
"Mom, I understand." Rosa frowned and cut off June's words forcefully before she could finish. She then took a deep breath and said, "Mom, is there anything else you want to say? If not, I should rest. Maya is a light sleeper. She might wake up if I leave her for too long."
June opened her mouth slightly, but her words were cut short by Rosa's cold and ruthless demeanor. She was left speechless for a moment and could only shake her head in response.
Rosa said, "Get some rest. Good night."
Then the door was shut.
Rosa closed the door without seeing the guilt in June's eyes.
June lingered outside the door for quite some time before she turned and left. At the stairway, Libby noticed her mother and approached her, holding her arm closely.
“Mom." Libby's voice was soft and gentle.
"Is Rosa upset? Does she still not want to come back?"
June forced a smile, her eyelashes lowered.
"She didn't say that."
Libby appeared remorseful.
“Mom, you don't have to lie to me. I know she blames me. If I hadn't been reckless, maybe..."
“Libby, she doesn't blame you." June quickly rejected her daughter's statement.
"It's not your fault. Nobody is holding you responsible."
Embracing her mother, Libby said, "Mom, I know that you've put aside Rosa for my sake all these years. Now I've matured and become responsible. I understand you don't want to blame me, but I acknowledge my mistakes, and I'll work to make amends. Perhaps Rosa doesn't forgive me now. But sooner or later, she will. I'll be patient, just like you were with me in the past."
Witnessing the sincerity in Libby's eyes, June smiled with understanding.
“Thank you, Libby."
"We're a family, there's no need to mention it." Libby smiled.
"Don't worry, Mom. Rosa will return."
June nodded.
