Chapter: 1762
Carson didn't take it seriously; in fact, he didn't pay much attention to Libby.
"If you didn't drive here yesterday, I'll ask the driver to send you home."
Libby was surprised that Carson didn't inquire further.
She was taken aback and took a bigger bite of her bread.
“Okay...
But actually, it's not necessary. I can probably just wander around the nearby mall."
Carson raised his eyes to her.
Seeing that he didn't respond, Libby decided to keep the conversation going on her own.
“Last night, my sister and Maya stayed over at our place. As Maya's aunt, I haven't prepared any gifts for her since I met her, so I thought I'd go to the mall and buy a lovely dress for her.
I was thinking, if you don't have other plans, I'd like you to come with me. That way, I can tell Maya that her father bought this for her, and she'll be happy to receive it."
As Libby spoke, she kept a close eye on Carson's expression.
As expected, when Carson heard the name of Maya, he stopped eating his meal.
He looked up at Libby, appearing deep in thought, and then inquired, “Are you in a hurry?"
"What?" It took Libby a while to react.
Carson drank up the rest of the milk and put down the glass. The bottom of the glass and the table made a dull sound.
“If you are not in a rush, you can wait for me at the office. I'll join you for shopping once I'm done, in about an hour."
Libby's eyes brightened.
“Carson, you'll go shopping with me?"
“Hmm... Carson agreed.
“I haven't gotten Maya a decent gift either.
Libby smiled.
"Okay, then. I'll wait at your office. I promise I won't disturb you."
Carson gave her a look but said nothing.
After breakfast, Carson left the club with Libby.
