Chapter: 1775
"Well... Okay, then. Let's have lunch together."
Jeanne nodded in agreement. She called her assistant over and told her to make a reservation at a restaurant. If she had noticed the coldness in Rosa's eyes, she wouldn't have done such a thing.
The assistant nodded while looking at the time on her watch. She reminded, "Jeanne, we should go back to work."
Jeanne nodded. Then she turned to Rosa and said, "Rosa, sit here with Maya for a while. I'll just finish this last shoot, and we will leave together."
"Okay. Go back to your work now."
After Jeanne left, Rosa held Maya's hand, turned around, and was about to take Maya to the waiting area not far away. She didn't even spare a glance at Libby.
Libby bit her lower lip, put on an aggrieved look, and asked, "Rosa, don't you want me to have lunch with you?"
Rosa stopped, turned back, and looked at Libby's pitiful face. But she didn't feel any emotions. Since she was a child, their parents always reminded her to take care of Libby. She was older, so she had to be sensible enough and tolerant of Libby.
She had humored Libby since she was little. She gave up many things for Libby, including their parents' love.
But one day, she realized that her tolerance only made Libby worse. She didn't hear even a single thank you from Libby. Instead, Libby abused her kindness.
Rosa didn't want to endure it anymore. But her parents accused of her being selfish.
Libby, on the other hand, was always the innocent one.
Rosa really wanted to take off her mask. She replied rudely, "You're right.
I don't want you to have lunch with us."
Libby clenched her fists tightly.
“But since you are shameless enough to have lunch with us, I can't stop you, right?" As Rosa spoke, there was no emotion in her cold voice.
Libby was so angry that her face turned pale.
At this moment, Maya suddenly let go of Rosa's hand and trotted towards the elevator. She called the man walking out of the elevator in a soft voice, "Daddy!"
Carson stooped down and lifted Maya up. With a smile, he inquired, "Maya, have you missed me?"
Maya gripped onto Carson's neck firmly and nodded actively.
Libby's expression changed briefly, but she soon regained her composure and inquired, “Carson, did the meeting finish up so soon?"
While holding Maya with one hand, Carson looked at Libby and then shifted his gaze to Rosa.
Rosa pressed her lips together, locked eyes with him, and remained silent.
Carson's eyes grew darker. But before he could respond, Libby spoke up again.
