Chapter: 1782
"Rosa, I thought you'd never dare to set foot in Glory Group for the rest of your life." Since Carson was infuriated, his tone became sarcastic. "I underestimated you."
"Don't get me wrong. If it weren't for my job, I would never set foot there again," Rosa replied. “But if you mind, I'll do my best to avoid you. And if I can't avoid you, I'll keep my distance to spare you from being reminded of any unpleasant memories."
Rosa was not a pushover.
Carson should have known it from the first time they met. She was different from other women. She might not be refined and elegant, but she was never timid. And she spoke boldly.
Didn't he fall in love with her because of her brashness?
"Unpleasant memories? Rosa, why do you always think that seeing you will make me sad?" Rosa's words were like a sharp knife that pierced Carson's heart. It hurt so much. "I don't want to see you because every time I do, I'm reminded of your betrayal. And it makes me feel sick and disgusted."
Rosa's face turned pale. “I am indeed not worthy," she said emotionlessly, giving nothing away.
This was not the reaction Carson expected from her. He thought she would get furious, slap and curse him. But she didn't. Instead, she was very calm. And her unexpected calmness only made him feel like he couldn't hold on to her anymore.
"Since you hate me so much, I will no longer bother you," Rosa said coldly.
"I'm sorry."
After saying this, she turned around and left.
However, she had just taken two steps forward when her arm was suddenly grabbed by a strong hand. Before she could react, he pulled her to the corner behind the balcony door and trapped her between the wall and his arm.
Everything happened so fast that Rosa didn't even get the chance to resist.
When she came to her senses, she wanted to push him away. But he put her hands above her head and pressed them against the wall. "Rosa Moran."
Carson called her name through clenched teeth. It was as if he wanted to chew those words into pieces and swallow them.
Rosa raised her head and looked at him. Her long eyelashes flickered.
However, she didn't say anything.
"I need an explanation," Carson demanded in a strained voice.
Rosa pursed her red lips and looked at Carson for a long time. Then, she asked, "What kind of explanation do you want to hear from me?"
What she meant was what kind of explanation could Carson consider satisfactory.
Carson didn't react for a moment. He was stumped by her question. His grip on her waist tightened. Then, he let go of her and sneered.
"Rosa, do you really think I am the kind of person you can abandon at will?
Four years! It has been four years, but you didn't even bother to give me an explanation."
Rosa didn't expect to hear those words from Carlson. Her heart unconsciously ached. She put her hands behind her back, clenching her fists tightly.
