Chapter: 1810
Libby was unprepared. She didn't expect Rosa to slap her hard enough for her ear to buzz. Her head tilted to one side.

"Libby!" June's eyes widened in shock. She quickly stepped forward and pulled Libby in her arms. “Rosa! What are you doing?”

Rosa glanced at them coldly but didn't utter a word.

Libby covered her cheek and shouted, “Rosa! Have you lost your mind?"

“Libby, you'd better remember this slap. This is a mere warning. If you repeat this, I won't let go of you," Rosa snapped coldly.

Libby panicked.

June couldn't understand what Rosa was referring to. “Rosa, what are you referring to? What did she do?" she asked, frowning. Then, she turned to look at Libby.

Libby quickly concealed the panic in her eyes. She shook her head innocently when she met June's puzzled gaze. Tears welled up in her eyes and was about to trickle down her cheeks.

“Mom, I don't know either," she muttered, sniffing as if she would burst into tears any minute. "I don't know what she's saying."

June looked at Rosa in exasperation. “What on earth is going on, Rosa? Can't we talk this through? Why would you slap Libby? Don't you know how to behave yourself? I never taught you to act this way.”

Although Rosa slapped Libby, it hurt June as well.

Libby felt encouraged when June defended her. She arched an eyebrow and cast a challenging look at Rosa, which June didn't seem to notice.

Rosa, however, saw everything. "You didn't teach me to behave Like that. No one taught me to behave this way. I learned it myself. From an early age, I understood I shouldn't endure things I can't. When I turned eighteen, I swore I would never let anyone hurt me."

However, that didn't happen.

When Rosa was young, her parents left her alone in the big house while they stayed with her half-sister.

Libby lived with her mother. Rosa barely got the chance to see her mother.

When she turned eighteen, she promised herself she wouldn't suffer more grievances. If no one supported her, she would be her own protector. But later on, she sacrificed her happiness for others.

Rosa had suppressed all the grievances in her heart. She never wanted to talk about them after all these years.

However, June continued mentioning the past Rosa tried hard to forget and emphasized she felt sorry for Rosa. It broke Rosa's heart to hear that. She knew June did this only to free herself from the guilt.

Rosa understood everything, and that was why she no longer wanted to get involved with the Moran family.

The blood on June's face drained. "Rosa, you..."

"Mrs. Moran, you mentioned I should behave myself. While I wasn't fortunate enough to learn about it from you, Libby must have learned everything from you over the years." Although Rosa sounded calm, her voice dripped with sarcasm.

"I don't understand, Rosa. Why do you have to talk to me this way?"

Rosa glared at her mother but didn't reply.
