Chapter: 1812
“Yes, Caiden Griffin was driving the car." Rosa looked at June. “If I'm not wrong, isn't Caiden your driver, Mrs. Moran?"

June pressed her lips and nodded. “Yeah. Caiden usually drives me when I go out but I didn't leave the house today."

June stopped short. She turned and looked at Libby in disbelief.

"Libby?"

Caiden was driving Libby this afternoon.

Libby broke down crying. "Mom, it's not like that. I don't know what happened. Caiden... He drove back after dropping me. I... I didn't do anything, Mom. Trust me. Why would I do something Like that?"

Looking at the flustered Libby, June got convinced she was lying. If Libby had no hand in the attack, she'd demand proof from Rosa or call Caiden right away.

Contrary to these expectations, Libby shook her head, insisting she wasn't involved.

June had practically witnessed Libby's entire growth, and this reaction mirrored childhood moments when she was caught lying.

ALL of a sudden, June felt Libby was a stranger; she couldn't grasp what was on her mind.

Was she truly the same Libby she had raised? Was this the girl who had always been the apple of her eye? For Libby's sake, she had forsaken her own daughter, dedicating decades to her upbringing, only to discover she was a disappointment-someone indifferent to human life.

June found it hard to believe, but Libby's reaction persistently echoed Rosa's likely truth.

"Mom. Libby's heart dropped as June's eyes revealed a hint of disappointment. "Do you trust Rosa more than me?"

“No, it's not like that." June, of course, wanted to believe Libby.

In the end, that was exactly what she opted for, despite knowing the event was connected to Libby. She steadfastly chose to stand by her side.

“Rosa, there must be some sort of misunderstanding here." June held Libby's hand, gently patting it for comfort. She glanced at Rosa and asserted, “Caiden isn't reckless, and Libby wouldn't do something like that.

Rosa's eyes chilled further as she locked eyes with June.

Even before coming to the mansion, Rosa had already anticipated the Moran family rallying around Libby. It was as if she could almost taste the potential scolding for her remarks against Libby or feel the weight of blame placed on her for creating a scene.

After all, in their eyes, Libby was their cherished daughter, growing up before their eyes. Rosa, on the other hand, was the illegitimate daughter.

“Well, she knows very well whether it's a misunderstanding or not,"

Rosa said with a sneer.

“Rosa, she's your sister, after all. Why would you think that she intends to harm you?" June asked. “There surely is some sort of mistake. Libby wouldn't do such a thing. I'll confront Caiden when he comes back."

Rosa remained silent, fixing her gaze on June.

Observing Rosa's intense stare, June wasn't certain if she had swayed her. "Don't worry. This will be dealt with."
