Chapter: 1813
"And how?" Initially, Rosa had only intended to warn Libby, not to seek an explanation. However, witnessing June staunchly defend Libby left her thoroughly repulsed.
She refused to let Maya and herself endure this for nothing.
Consequently, she had to seek compensation.
Glancing at Libby, Rosa remarked in a cold voice, “Maybe I could drive my car into her as well?"
June's expression changed instantly.
“Rosa, don't you dare!" Libby exclaimed. She tightened her grip on June's hand and fixed a stern gaze on Rosa. "I didn't do that. It's Caiden. When Caiden returns, feel free to ask for an explanation from him."
"It seems that you won't admit it no matter what," said Rosa.
Biting her lower lip, Libby, feeling cornered, turned to June, silently pleading for her help. Rosa's harsh words hit June Like a punch; suddenly, she felt estranged from her. It was as if she never truly knew Rosa.
“Rosa, this matter needs further investigation. Libby said it wasn't her doing, and I believe there must be some misunderstanding. Let's wait until Caiden..."
"Fair enough." Rosa impatiently interrupted her mother and shifted her gaze to Libby. "If you won't admit it until you have to, then so be it. You insist on confronting Caiden, but where is he? Summon him now."
June was taken aback.
Her original intention was to smooth things over and dismiss Rosa first.
Libby's abrupt demand for an explanation took June by surprise.
Hesitation flickered in her eyes as she considered asking Libby about Caiden.
Asking such a question, however, might make it seem like she doubted Libby.
Caught in her inner conflict, June chose silence.
In the midst of June's silence, Libby's voice broke through, raspy and strained. "I don't know where Caiden is either."
"Rosa, Caiden might..."
“Wait, you're also clueless about Caiden's location?" Rosa's question came laced with a smirk, her eyes dancing with a blend of disdain and anger towards Libby.
"Like I mentioned before, Caiden vanished after dropping me off this afternoon! How could I possibly know his whereabouts?"
Rosa, without missing a beat, pulled out a plane ticket from her wallet and placed it on the table. "Oh, really? Caiden mentioned you handed him this ticket, asking him to lay low for a while."
At the sight of the ticket, Libby's face drained of color.
She stumbled backward, barely catching herself. In a rush, she exclaimed, “How did you get that ticket?"
“Simple. You gave it to Caiden, and now it's in my hands. Connect the dots."
