Chapter: 1816
If the public had seen this scene, they probably would have been moved.

But anyone who knew the full story would know how ironic the whole situation was.

Her biological mother was knelling in front of her, begging for mercy for an adopted daughter with whom she had no blood relationship, and this adopted daughter wanted the biological daughter dead.

It was four years ago that Rosa realized that June would not change and that she would never truly have the love of her mother.

She had anticipated and even rehearsed this scene countless times in her mind.

"No," she blurted out.

June was stunned. She had not expected Rosa to refuse her. She had thought Rosa would cave as soon as she saw her crying and begging.

She had been wrong.

"Rosa..."

"I have a question for you," Rosa said, interrupting her.

June's face went pale.

Rosa glanced at Libby mockingly, smirked, and said, “If Libby and I switched roles, what would you do? Would you kneel at Libby's feet and beg her to forgive me?"

"Of course..."

“Think about it before you blurt out an answer. If I drove and hit Libby and her child today, would you really beg on my behalf? Would you?"

June just gaped at her.

She didn't know how to answer Rosa's question.

Rosa moved forward, bent down, and lifted June up.

June stood up. Her eyes lit up as she thought Rosa was going to agree. “Rosa, you..."

"I won't forgive Libby. I won't let it go," Rosa said firmly. “But you can find a lawyer to handle Libby's defense."

“Libby is your sister!"

"She's my sister. But what about you? You are my biological mother, but you knelt down to beg me even when it meant I would sacrifice a lot. I will answer the question I asked you.

If I had been in Libby's shoes, you wouldn't have kneeled down in front of her to plead for me like you did today. Libby would not have let this go either. She would have done anything to see me spend the rest of my life in jail."

Rosa swiped the finger that had been placed on the dial button.

She put the phone on speaker. A voice on the other end answered.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"I want to report a crime..."
