Chapter: 151
With the head chef absent, the household staff, who held a lingering respect for Alan's ex-affections, treated Ashley with considerable care to keep her in good spirits.

After her meal, she took a cup of coffee and ascended the stairs, maintaining a calm and collected air.

A servant cautioned her, “Miss Willis, you're not to enter Mr. Hewitt's room."

Ashley offered a disarming smile in return. “I just need to grab some clothes. I rushed here yesterday without bringing anything. I can't spend the whole day in my pajamas, right?"

Though Ashley's pajamas were modest, they weren't suitable for wandering around the house.

The servant wisely remained silent and chose not to obstruct her further.

Ashley pushed open the bedroom door and scanned the master bedroom.

It was just as she remembered: grey tones and minimalist decor dominated the space.

She headed directly to the walk-in closet, her expression turning frosty.

She had hoped to find only a few of Kaitlin's items, but to her astonishment, the closet brimmed with women's clothing.

Shelves were laden with high heels and designer bags, many limited edition-a good number unfamiliar to her.

Ashley's grip tightened as she perused the closet, noting something odd.

The clothes seemed fresh and unworn.

Despite this discovery, Ashley's spirits remained low. Clearly, Alan had purchased these garments for Kaitlin.

She selected a red dress and slipped it on.

The dress accentuated her complexion and made her red lips even more prominent.

Alan had always loved seeing her in such attire.

She admired her reflection in the full-length mirror for a moment before completing the outfit with sparkling gold heels and a designer bag.

Pleased with her transformation, she carelessly stuffed her pajamas back into the closet and strode out, her heels echoing on the hardwood floor.

Feeling a twinge of boredom, Ashley initiated a video call with Lilliana.

She settled into a rocking chair on the balcony, the sunlight catching her hair and casting a radiant glow.

When Lilliana picked up, she mistook Ashley's location for somewhere far-flung.

“Ashley, where are you?"

Ashley flashed her a grin. "Can't guess where I am, can you?"
