Chapter: 152
She spun the camera around, deliberately showcasing the room's elegant decor. As she anticipated, Lilliana gasped, taken aback.
"You're at Alan's!"
“What's so shocking about that?" Ashley's smug expression was evident; she was clearly reveling in the moment.
"Have you made up with Alan? When do I get to move in, too?"
Lilliana had always envied Alan's luxurious residence, a desire constantly thwarted by Kaitlin.
"Hold your horses. You're my sister. I'll secure you a villa Like this one day."
A flicker of mockery passed through Ashley's eyes. She was well aware of Lilliana's aspirations.
Lilliana was utterly clueless; despite her long absence, she still hadn't managed to charm Alan.
Now that Ashley was back, she was determined not to let Lilliana-or anyone else-pose a threat.
“Ashley, you're incredible!"
Ashley nonchalantly threw out a hollow promise, which Lilliana eagerly swallowed. Sometimes Ashley wondered if their parents had adopted Lilliana.
"Cut the chit-chat. I need a favor from you."
Lilliana's excitement dwindled, replaced by a sullen pout. "Ashley, you only reach out when you need something, don't you?"
“Enough whining. This is for our future," Ashley said sharply, her raised eyebrow cutting off any rebuttal.
Lilliana swiftly conceded, "Fine, Ashley, I'll help. But I'm strapped for cash at the moment. I'm stuck in this cheap hotel, and the noise keeps me up all night. It's a real struggle."
Ashley was growing restless. "Okay, I'll transfer some money to you later. But really, you need to find a stable place to live; it's not safe to keep staying at hotels.”
“My dear sister, I knew you wouldn't let me down!" Lilliana exclaimed, relieved to have secured the support she needed.
Once her own needs were addressed, Lilliana finally inquired about what Ashley required her assistance with.
"It's straightforward. Track down Kaitlin and inform her I've moved into Alan's place, and we've made up. Try to upset her as much as you can."
This was a prime opportunity for Ashley to stir up trouble between Alan and Kaitlin, a chance she was eager to exploit.
However, it wasn't appropriate for her to intervene directly, so she chose to involve Lilliana as her pawn.
If the plan backfired, she could easily lay the blame on Lilliana.
Lilliana, less concerned with the consequences, was keen to provoke Kaitlin. "No problem. Consider it done. I'll handle it swiftly."
“Make sure you do it today. No delays, got it?"
