Chapter: 182
Whitney couldn't hide her satisfaction. “Please, Ms. Gilbert, no need for formalities. It's all part of the job."

"Understood. I'll have my assistant outline some tasks for you soon. Thanks for your dedication."

Leaving the office with a smile, Whitney felt optimistic. Meanwhile, Kaitlin organized the project details and instructed her assistant to pass them to Whitney.

However, she deliberately kept Whitney away from the core design tasks to maintain the project's momentum.

By assigning her minor tasks, Kaitlin made sure Whitney remained occupied without disrupting the workflow.

When Whitney realized her assignments were unrelated to design, she felt puzzled and confronted the assistant.

"I was told I'd be involved in the design aspect. What's all this about?"

The assistant offered Whitney a polite smile and patiently explained, "Ms. Jones, your primary responsibility is as a secretary. These tasks are well within your skill set. Ms. Gilbert wants to make sure you're not overwhelmed. We really need these documents tonight, and we appreciate your dedication."

With that, the assistant turned and walked away before Whitney could respond.

Frustrated, Whitney flipped through the pages before storming off to the kitchen to brew some coffee.

The stack of documents, demanding her attention until tonight, signaled a long evening ahead, possibly extending her workday.

What the hell was going on!

It appeared that Kaitlin, usually so reserved, had a knack for complicating things for everyone else.

After downing her coffee, Whitney returned to her desk and powered through the work, managing to complete everything before the day ended.

She delivered the files to the assistant and strode out of the office, her high heels echoing on the floor.

Muttering curses about the day's demands, Whitney felt the strain in her neck.

With the office now empty, she gathered her belongings and left.

Whitney drove home. As she got out of the car and made her way towards her apartment building, her path was abruptly blocked by another car.

Ashley stepped out, her expression unreadable, while Miguel remained inside, hidden from view.

"Ms. Jones."

Whitney spun around, her expression one of confusion, and found herself locking eyes with Ashley. “Who are you? Do you know me?"

"Absolutely, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Ashley Willis." Ashley offered her hand with a warm smile, introducing herself.

Whitney, however, remained guarded. “Cut the crap. What do you want from me?"

Ashley nodded understandingly. “Well, there is something I need to discuss. I heard you've started at Oasis Studio. Any trouble with Kaitlin there?"
