Chapter: 184
Inside, Kaitlin and Quintin were engrossed in a discussion about designs, appearing quite close.
Upon Whitney's entrance, Kaitlin gave her a puzzled look. “Why didn't you knock?"
"Am I interrupting anything?" Whitney's smirk was tinged with blatant scorn.
Kaitlin's brow creased as she felt the weight of Whitney's stare.
“What do you need?"
“Ms. Gilbert, I was wondering if the first phase of the design is ready. Mr. Thomas is awaiting a response."
Kaitlin frowned again. “It's a bit premature. Did Mr. Thomas send you to ask?"
"Yes, in twenty minutes, I expect to see you in the conference room. I'll review the results for Mr. Thomas." With that, Whitney exited the office.
Quintin, who had just returned from a business trip and was out of the loop regarding Whitney, exclaimed in frustration, "Who does she think she is? She's incredibly impolite."
Kaitlin explained, “She acts as the client's representative, and yes, her temperament is quite fiery. We might as well use this as a cue to review our work. Let's head to the conference room."
Twenty minutes later, the entire team convened in the conference room.
Kaitlin sat at the head of the table, meticulously examining the completed design drafts.
“Ms. Gilbert, let's begin with the report," Whitney announced, her eyes sweeping the room with an air of arrogance.
Kaitlin tapped the table lightly, choosing to overlook Whitney's demeanor. "Since the designs are still a work in progress, let's shift our focus to the design concepts," she suggested.
One by one, the designers presented their ideas. Whitney maintained her indifferent stance until Kaitlin unfolded her own design draft.
At that moment, Whitney interrupted with a loud throat-clearing.
The room tensed up as eyes darted towards her.
Kaitlin, undeterred, continued with her presentation.
Halfway through, Whitney interjected. "Your design deviates completely from Mr. Thomas' vision. It needs to be reworked."
A hush fell over the room. Kaitlin raised an eyebrow. “Whitney, is that your personal view, or did Mr. Thomas explicitly state that?" she asked for clarification.
Whitney scoffed dismissively, "Does it make a difference? Mr. Thomas placed me here to oversee the work. If my feedback is irrelevant, then why am I even here?"
Using Manuel to leverage her position, Whitney insinuated a doubt in Oasis Studio's competence.
“Whitney, it seems you've forgotten your training from design school. Ms. Gilbert's designs are invaluable. She's spearheading this project, and yet you challenge her expertise?" a designer retorted, unable to contain himself.
Visibly annoyed, Whitney slammed her hand on the table and stood up.
