Chapter: 274
Without much thought, she decided to head over to meet Nora.
"Ah!" the woman exclaimed.
She pretended to sprain her ankle and spilled half a glass of wine onto Kaitlin's dress.
Kaitlin's expression turned sour as the wine left a conspicuous stain on her elegant champagne-colored dress.
“I'm terribly sorry, Ms. Gilbert. I didn't see you there," the woman apologized.
She quickly attempted to dab at the stain with a tissue, though to no avail.
The commotion quickly drew a crowd, including Shawn, whose expression grew stern when he saw the mishap.
"Kaitlin, let me take you to change your clothes," he suggested gently.
"Don't bother," Kaitlin responded with a wave of her hand. "The celebration isn't over yet. It wouldn't be appropriate for you to leave."
“Just trust me. There's a lounge nearby. Let me help you," Shawn insisted.
Kaitlin looked around, searching for Alan, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Ultimately, she resigned herself to follow Shawn's suggestion.
While witnessing the scene, Nora tried to approach Kaitlyn but found herself obstructed by the crowd.
Seeing Shawn and Kaitlin depart to the lounge, she dashed off in search of Alan.
Alan, just off the phone, noticed Nora's distressed expression immediately. “What happened?" he asked.
“Mr. Hewitt, someone spilled wine on Kaitlin's dress. Mr. Murphy is taking her to the lounge," Nora explained between breaths.
Alan hurried toward the lounge with a look of concern.
Since it was located just behind the hall, he arrived swiftly.
Meanwhile, inside the lounge, Kaitlin scrutinized the selection of dresses laid out by Shawn's assistant. She hadn't settled on one yet.
Alan opened the lounge door and entered abruptly. “What's wrong, Kaitlin?" he asked.
"It's nothing serious. Just a stain. Mr. Murphy is assisting me with a change," Kaitlin responded.
"Oh," Alan said indifferently.
As his eyes scanned the dresses with disdain, he added, "Mr. Murphy doesn't seem to know your size. None of these look like they'll fit you at first glance."
Shawn, taken aback by Alan's unexpected arrival, stayed silent.
