Chapter: 285
With so many collaborations undertaken by the Hewitt Group each year, not knowing which project to look into would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

A gleam appeared in Ashley's eyes. She had no intention of being honest.

“Actually, I only heard about it vaguely. I need to Look into all of them."

“Really? In that case, you don't have to check it. There were so many projects ten years ago. Even if you get approval, you can only check the information for one or two projects at a time."

Miguel, having previously worked at headquarters, was well aware of these procedures.

Ashley realized she couldn't deceive him any longer. Reluctantly, she specified the project she was interested in.

"The suburban development project from ten years ago?"

Miguel's eyes narrowed as he tried to recall the project, sensing something vaguely familiar.

"Do you recall anything about it? If you do, maybe I won't need to do a detailed investigation." Ashley was eager for any shortcut she could take.

Noticing her deep concern, Miguel sensed something was off. "I don't recall."

Ashley felt a twinge of disappointment but kept her composure. “Then, I'll have to investigate it myself. Regarding the authorization..."

"Go back and wait for my response. Give me two days," Miguel said.

Ashley felt that two days seemed a bit lengthy, but it was better than having no lead at all.

"Okay, I'll wait," she responded with a hopeful smile.

After Ashley exited the villa, Miguel wasted no time deploying his resources to probe deeper into the project.

"Listen, find out who Ashley has been in close contact with recently. Why is she suddenly so keen to collaborate with me?" he instructed.

Miguel harbored deep suspicions about Ashley.

Despite her angelic facade, he believed her intentions were anything but pure.

"Don't alert Ashley, and make sure Alan remains unaware," Miguel added.

"Yes, Mr. Hewitt," his assistant responded with a nod.

Miguel found himself in a precarious position. If it weren't for his mother's intervention, he would have lost his residual influence.

In these circumstances, his best strategy was to conceal his capabilities and bide his time, flying low.

Yet, despite his efforts to avoid complications, they seemed to gravitate toward him relentlessly.

Now presented with an unexpected opportunity, he was determined to leverage it to his advantage.
