Chapter: 291
"If you need anything, just ask your assistants to purchase it, and take good care of yourself," Alan said.
"Don't worry, I know what to do."
They spoke for quite some time before hanging up.
There was a knocking on the door.
“Who is it?" Kaitlin opened the door and was greeted by a representative of the sponsors.
“Ms. Gilbert, the welcome dinner will be held on the second floor at eight o'clock."
He handed her an invitation, which she accepted with a nod.
"I see. Thank you," Kaitlin responded.
The invitation was beautifully designed, showing that the sponsor had put considerable thought into it.
Kaitlin still had a few hours before the dinner began. She picked out a dress, took a shower, and rested for a bit.
She overslept a little, making her slightly late.
Nevertheless, the event was casual regarding time. Kaitlin didn't worry about it and made her way leisurely to the banquet hall on the second floor.
The hall was alive with light, and guests were clinking glasses in toasts.
Soft music filled the air, while an array of desserts and champagne lined up, ready for the taking.
Upon entering, Kaitlin quickly drew attention.
"Good evening, Ms. Gilbert."
The voice belonged to Ernesto Collins, one of the event's organizers.
“Hello, Mr. Collins. Apologies for being a little late."
"You're not late at all. The timing is perfect. Tonight is all about sharing ideas, and we're honored to have you as a judge."
Flattered, Kaitlin responded with a pleased smile. “Thank you," she replied humbly.
Their conversation was briefly interrupted by a disturbance at the door.
Kaitlin looked toward the source of the voice. The man who entered was dressed in an elegant suit, and his every move was captivating.
His presence indicated he was no ordinary attendee.
Ernesto, noticing her interest, commented, "Ms. Gilbert, that's Denton Gilbert, the sponsor of this contest and the CEO of Gilbert Jewelry. Let's go and meet him."
