Chapter: 316
Denton exhaled deeply, his patience thinning.

"Mr. Gilbert, hold on. Let me get my assistant and find out why she did this."

Marcia turned and made her way to the car where her assistant awaited. She reached her and twisted her arm with force.

The assistant winced, barely stifling a cry. “Marcia, what's that for?" she asked.

“They've discovered everything. What were you thinking?" Marcia hissed between clenched teeth.

The assistant's eyes widened in shock. "How could this have happened?"

“Take full responsibility. Understand?" Marcia demanded sternly.

Meanwhile, Denton entered the lounge and sat beside Kaitlin.

“What's going on? You look upset." Kaitlin laughed softly, her curiosity piqued. “What's got you so riled up?"

Denton relayed the recent events to Kaitlin as he handed her the latest evidence his assistant had uncovered.

"So, Marcia was behind all this?" Kaitlin's voice held a note of confusion. "But why? I can't see any reason for her to hold a grudge against me, can you?"

"What's your plan now?" Denton inquired.

Kaitlin arched an eyebrow, considering. "Marcia's your employee. It doesn't seem right for me to confront her directly.”

“That's not a problem. She's going to be let go soon anyway," Denton assured her, his tone thick with a sense of justice.

"If that's the case, she should clear things up, and then..."

Kaitlin's voice trailed off, her hesitation palpable.

Just then, the lounge door swung open, revealing Alan who had just arrived.

"Then she should withdraw from the competition," Alan interjected sharply.

As he spoke, Marcia, who had just returned, froze.

Alan fixed a stern look on Denton. "Now that you're aware of the situation, I'm sure you understand the necessary course of action."

Marcia, gripping her assistant's hand, stepped forward. “Mr. Gilbert, I'm innocent. This was her doing!" she exclaimed.

She then turned to her assistant. "Tell me, why would you do this"

Marcia's assistant trembled with fear, her complexion draining to a ghostly pale.

Every eye in the lounge fixed on her.
