Chapter: 361
"I wouldn't lie to you."
Ashley scoffed slightly, “That figure is your assessment, so the margin of error should be small. I'll make sure to mention your efforts to Alan. It doesn't matter even if there's a slight error."
Relieved, the project director expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you."
"You're welcome. Carry on with your work."
Ashley pushed the door open and walked out.
After a moment's consideration, she texted the estimated number to Miguel, noting that Alan might raise the budget.
Shortly after, Miguel responded, "Okay."
With a slight pout, Ashley seized the moment to request a reward.
“Miguel, this is the handbag I want."
She sent pictures of the handbag to Miguel and awaited his response with anticipation.
However, Miguel didn't reply, which made her mood sour.
Was he planning to retract his offer? Or would she only receive her reward after delivering good news?
She mulled it over for a while and concluded that she would have to wait until the final outcome was decided.
All she could do was hope that the results of this bidding would please both Shawn and Miguel.
On the morning following the second day, the results of the second round of bidding were announced.
Hewitt Group had won the bid.
Upon hearing Dylan's report, Alan responded with satisfaction.
“How closely did Murphy Group follow us in the bid? Have you found out?"
“There was a difference of only two million. It was a narrow victory. Fortunately, you increased our bid at the Last moment, Mr. Hewitt, or it might have been tough."
Alan's expression sharpened. He was aware that the situation was more complicated than it appeared.
"And how far were we behind Murphy Group in the first round?"
Dylan shook his head. "Mr. Hewitt, the exact figures aren't clear, but it seems the gap wasn't large during the first round either."
“That's the issue," Alan said.
Dylan looked puzzled.
