Chapter: 362
“Mr. Hewitt, are you suggesting we have a leak within the company?"

Alan snorted, "Find out who's responsible. We need to identify the mole before the third round of bidding."

"Understood, Mr. Hewitt."

While Hewitt Group initiated their search for the insider, Ashley was not at work.

She was at home, taking a leisurely bath, waiting for an update from Miguel.

However, the updates were disappointing.

"Ashley, what the hell is going on?" Miguel's voice came from the other end of the line.

Ashley was taken aback. Clearly, things hadn't gone as planned.

"Miguel, please, let's stay calm. I already explained that the final decision was made by Alan himself. I can't read his mind or predict his decisions exactly."

Ashley was frustrated with Miguel's failure to honor his promise, and now he seemed to be blaming her?

Not happening!

“I did my best as you've asked. About that handbag..."

Miguel cut her off impatiently, "Idiot! There's still a third round of bidding. You need to get closer to Alan and do whatever it takes to find out what you can. If the final result is favorable, you'll get whatever you want."

Ashley bit her lip, skeptical of his assurances. “And what about this time?"

“Don't push it, Ashley.”

With that, Miguel ended the call abruptly, clearly not in the mood to engage further.

Ashley scoffed, tossed her phone aside, slipped on her eye mask, and went straight to bed.

They were all the same-promising the world but stingy even with a handbag, yet expecting so much.

When she woke up, she noticed a missed call from the project director.

Ashley called back, her tone lazy.

"What's going on?"

"Why weren't you at work today?"

Ashley sometimes missed work, but the project director usually overlooked it and never really confronted her about it.

What was wrong with him today? His tone was still so fierce.
