“Oh, I'm not feeling great. What's up?"

The project director replied in a low voice, “You should come to work these days. Mr. Hewitt's assistant is conducting some investigations. If he notices your frequent absences, it might spell trouble for you."

“Investigating what?"

"I'm not sure. He was in our department this morning collecting numerous documents. It must be Mr. Hewitt's idea. I didn't feel it was wise to pry further."

Upon hearing this, Ashley tensed. Alan was not one to act without a solid reason.

It appeared that Alan might suspect an internal leak concerning the project details.

Meanwhile, Oasis Jewelry and Brooks Jewelry had finalized their design drafts.

Denton and Kaitlin both were keen on organizing an exhibition in Osewood.

They held different views on the matter.

"It makes sense to entrust us with this. After all, we're in Osewood and I'm hosting," Kaitlin said.

"But you're pregnant now. Organizing this will be quite demanding. I've not brought many people, but we have enough."

Denton paused before adding, “If necessary, I could use some extra hands from your studio. How does that sound?"

Kaitlin felt somewhat conflicted. She appreciated that Denton was not looking to create any unnecessary drama and was considerate of her health.

"Denton, you're so thoughtful. I'm truly grateful."

"You don't have to be so formal with me," Denton replied with a dismissive wave of his hand. “Alright then. If I need help, I'll definitely reach out."

Kaitlin nodded and said, "Sure, let's keep in touch."

Denton stood up and was about to leave.

Just as he exited the office, Phoebe entered.

“How's the show planning going? What do you need me for?" she asked.

Kaitlin shook her head and said, “Brooks Jewelry will handle it. Looks like we won't need to get involved."

Phoebe looked surprised. "Really?" she asked.

"Absolutely. Denton is worried I can't handle it," Kaitlyn responded.

"No wonder Mr. Hewitt is jealous," Phoebe remarked, clicking her tongue. “If I were him, I might misunderstand too."

“What do you mean? Denton and I are just friends," Kaitlyn said.
