Chapter: 380
Compared to other concerns, Kaitlin was more worried about Alan.

Alan remained silent but eventually sighed.

Kaitlin guided him upstairs, settled on the sofa, and asked again, “No one else is around now. What's wrong? Are you upset?"

Alan stayed quiet for a moment before nodding.

He then shared with Kaitlin the events that had unfolded, including Beth's reactions.

Kaitlin felt glad when she learned that Alan had given Miguel a beating.

However, learning that Beth had scolded Alan made her uneasy.

Now she understood why Alan was so downcast.

"Alan, Beth was just upset for the moment. Her son was attacked, after all. You've never experienced that, have you? It's natural for a mother to react strongly. She was just speaking out of anger. Try not to dwell on it."

Kaitlin rushed to reassure Alan. Being pregnant herself, she could empathize with Beth's feelings.

Alan shook his head, indicating disagreement. "No, those weren't just words spoken in anger. When my parents died in that car accident, her response was just as dismissive."

His tone, tinged with emotion, caused Kaitlin to frown.

“But there's no proof of what happened back then. If you could find any evidence, I'm sure Beth would support you."

Before her divorce, Kaitlin had heard bits about the tragic death of Alan's parents. Though Alan seldom spoke of it, she was certain Miguel had a hand in it.

But in the end, Miguel didn't receive any punishment.

Kaitlin knew that it was the wound in Alan's heart, so she always avoided bringing it up.

"No, Grandma wouldn't. Even though I can't prove it, I know Miguel wasn't innocent. If he were, Grandma wouldn't have let me off so easily after my people were responsible for his injuries.”

As Alan spoke calmly, Kaitlin felt deeply sympathetic towards him.

He had been forced to take on a huge responsibility after his parents’ untimely deaths, with his uncle turning against him.

Despite numerous challenges, he managed to establish himself in Osewood.

He was truly remarkable.

Kaitlin embraced him and gently patted his back. "Alan, let the past go. Don't dwell on it anymore. Remember, our child and I are always here for you. We're your true family."

Alan softly touched Kaitlin's belly as he listened.

The confrontation between Miguel and Beth didn't last long, and Beth finally gave in.
