Chapter: 395
A wave of discomfort washed over Kaitlin upon Ashley's greeting.

“Don't use my name. I hardly know you. Besides, this is the CEO's elevator. You really shouldn't be here," Kaitlin retorted coldly, her gaze sharp. "Just keep your mind on your work and steer clear of any unwelcome ideas, or it might cost you your job."

Ashley's expression soured.

When the elevator reached the basement level, Kaitlin stepped out and walked away without a backward glance.

As Kaitlin climbed into the car, Ashley watched with eyes brimming with resentment and frustration.

She hissed, "You'll be beneath my feet soon enough, you bitch.”

Nothing had been going right for her lately.

Ashley had seen the news. It was the first collaboration between Shawn and Miguel, and it had been a failure.

Miguel was utterly useless!

And to think she had been working with them for a long time.

Lost in her thoughts, Ashley was jolted by her phone ringing. It was Miguel, and his tone was dark, clearly upset.

"Get Shawn on the line and tell him to work with me again!"

Ashley's expression tensed. She wasn't sure what new drama had unfolded between them.

But given Miguel's urgency, she suspected Shawn was reluctant to team up again.

“Mr. Hewitt, I'm just a small fry." Ashley carefully chose her words, reluctant to involve herself.

After all, what was in it for her?

A brief silence followed before Miguel made an offer she couldn't ignore from the other end.

"I'll get you that handbag you've been eyeing."

Joy lit up Ashley's eyes. "Really? Mr. Hewitt, are you going to purchase it immediately?"

"Don't get ahead of yourself. Rest assured, I'll fulfill the promise I made."

Ashley quickly agreed with a smile, "Mr. Hewitt, I'll do everything I can to assist you. What should I do?"

“Locate Shawn and inform him that Alan orchestrated a car accident that crippled my leg, all because he aspires to be the CEO."

Ashley gasped in shock, "Mr. Hewitt, is that really true?"

From the other end of the phone, Miguel clucked his tongue, clearly growing impatient with her inquiries.
