Chapter: 408
Alan was the first to get up and exit the meeting room.
The other shareholders followed suit. As they walked past Miguel, they made no effort to pause, and some even made a point to keep their distance.
It was clear they wanted nothing to do with him.
Once everyone else had departed, Miguel's face turned deathly pale.
He slammed his fist onto the table in anger.
His assistant stiffened and remained silent.
“What's with those shareholders? Didn't they promise to support me? They're always in Alan's side, aren't they?"
Miguel didn't actually ask for an answer. The recent vote had made everything perfectly clear to him.
Alan's control within the company was absolute, and could not be shaken by any minor setbacks.
With a heavy heart, Miguel left the company and his eyes immediately landed on the day's headlines.
The headlines exposed all of his wrongdoings.
Before his injury, he had tarnished the Hewitt Group's reputation by ruining several projects.
Alan had always possessed the evidence, and now, the timing was right for him to reveal it.
"Someone needs to handle this immediately! We must prevent the news from spreading," Miguel instructed in an indignant tone.
The assistant nodded repeatedly. Despite Miguel's influence, he stood no chance against Alan.
In just one night, the news skyrocketed to the top of the trending searches, gaining more attention by the hour.
Under each related post, numerous negative comments piled up.
The situation began to turn. The scandalous news about Miguel spread even faster than Alan's scandal.
"Miguel has never been a good person. His innocence was just an act."
“I remember those projects being mentioned in the news back then. Some companies even went bankrupt because of them."
"Really? So, it seems Miguel was the one taking advantage of people all along. After all, the Hewitt Group has not been involved in such scandals in recent years."
"No wonder Miguel and Alan are at odds with each other. Both of them seem corrupt to me!"
As Miguel watched the news, he lost his temper in his villa.
He threw the decor in his study all over, leaving the room in shambles.
