Chapter: 416
Her colleagues from the department all stared at her. Some of them had already begun to whisper, their words tinged with clear disdain and ridicule.

Although Ashley hadn't been close with her colleagues, her habit of frequently arriving late and leaving early stirred up resentment.

Those with a direct nature couldn't resist approaching Ashley's spot and snorted coldly.

“Hurry up. The new hire is arriving soon. Don't delay us."

Ashley looked up defiantly and slammed her belongings onto the table.

Then, she swung her hand and slapped the person in front of her.

“Bitch, how dare you talk down to me like that?"

The slap echoed through the room, leaving everyone in shock.

The one who was slapped snapped back to reality and immediately grabbed Ashley by the hair.

Suddenly, the department was in chaos. Some tried to break up the fight, while others saw a chance to take a swipe at Ashley.

The turmoil lasted for quite some time.

Ashley's hair was disheveled, and her elegant dress was ripped. Her face was red and swollen, and blood dripped from her nose, making her look pitiful.

It appeared that Ashley came off worse in this battle.

“Enough! Stop it. Those who don't belong should leave the company immediately," the manager raged. He had just arrived on the scene.

Ashley glanced at the mess around her, wiped the blood from her nose, and headed straight for the elevator.

She planned to use her pitiful state to elicit sympathy from Alan.

As Ashley was planning her approach to seek consolation, the elevator doors opened, and she bumped into Kaitlin.

Kaitlin looked at her with evident disdain and disgust.

“\ihat happened today?"

Kaitlin stopped the elevator and asked with keen interest.

Ashley wished that she could have avoided Kaitlin.

The last time they met in the elevator, Kaitlin cautioned her to focus on her work instead of distractions, warning that she might lose her job.

Now, that warning became a reality.

This made Ashley resent her even more.
