Chapter: 1000
"Good thinking. He shouldn't have to put off his work for this. Managing such a big company isn't easy."

Aimee nodded again, wiping her tears. “I know, Dad. Don't worry."

"Stop crying," Henson said softly, wiping her tears with a tissue.

"I'll stay here with you. Your mother will be here soon. She was at the market, but I couldn't wait. I was afraid you couldn't handle this alone, so I took a taxi."

"Thank you, Dad. I'm just going to step outside for some fresh air. I'll be back soon."

Aimee felt a sharp pain in her eyes and a heavy weight on her chest.

Fortunately, the emergency room was on the first floor, allowing her to step out and return quickly.

“Okay, go ahead. Wipe your tears," Henson said, placing the tissue in her hand.

Aimee nodded, stood up, and walked outside. The fresh air helped her feel a bit better. She stepped outside, pulling out her phone to message Nikolas. He often complained when she didn't reply quickly.

As she glanced around, something caught her eye. In the parking lot, a familiar car stood out. She squinted to get a better Look.

It was unmistakably Nikolas’ car — a limited edition sports car, the kind of flashy vehicle only he would drive.

But why was it here at the hospital? It should be parked at the Bates Group.

Puzzled, Aimee paused. She took a photo of the car and sent it to Nikolas on WhatsApp.

“I saw your car. Are you at the hospital?"

Nearly a minute passed, but there was no reply from Nikolas.

Was Nikolas really so busy that he couldn't check his phone?

Aimee's first thought was that Nikolas should have offered his car to someone else who needed it more.

Even though they had their share of arguments and playful spats before their relationship began, Aimee trusted Nikolas completely.

His honesty and straightforwardness had always been clear, and she didn't want to let suspicion cloud her judgment.

Hoping for news about Jayson, Aimee quickly pocketed her phone and refocused on the chaotic emergency room.

Victoria was also present, visibly uneasy in the clinical hospital environment.

“Aimee, does Jayson still have feelings for your friend?" Victoria asked, her eyes sharp and inquisitive.

"Yes..."

“He did all this for your friend, didn't he?" Victoria's insight was clear, her understanding of the situation evident in her question.
