Chapter: 1090
The moment was interrupted by the nutritionist knocking on the door.

“Mr. Bennett, your breakfast is ready."

“Okay.”

Nikolas gave her a sidelong glance and offered a gentle smile. “Shall I carry you, or will you walk by yourself?"

Aimee was at a loss for words.

"I can walk," Aimee said, giving in.

She realized that now was not the time to provoke Nikolas.

Sooner or later, he would have to leave anyway, whether for work or to handle his parents. Plus, her parents would notice she was missing and come looking for her here.

She wouldn't be stuck with him for long.

Just as they reached the dining room, Nikolas' phone rang.

Aimee instinctively glanced over, and Nikolas openly showed her the caller ID on the screen.

“It's Siena," he stated plainly.

Aimee was left speechless once more.

In Aimee's presence, Nikolas picked up the call and switched it to speaker mode.

Suddenly, a frantic voice erupted from the phone. "Nikolas, it was you, wasn't it? You seized all my parents’ hotels, right?"

"Yes," he answered, his face void of emotion.

"Did you do something to Marvin? His limbs are broken, he's on the brink of amputation, and now the Singh family's accounts are frozen. They can't access a single penny! Do you want him to die?"

Nikolas leaned back in his chair, a carefree smile spreading across his face.

“What he said, looking down on me for just being rich and having nothing special, made me want to show him what a rich guy could actually do."

"You're heartless! You've gone crazy!"

"Didn't you foresee this when you conspired with him against me?"

Nikolas interlaced his fingers, his gaze landing on Aimee's astonished expression. “You nearly cost me my child. Consider this a mild retribution."

Aimee felt her scalp tingle at Siena's hysterical cry.

She realized, for the first time, what Nikolas was actually capable of.
