Chapter: 1113
"Remember how Siena was rude to you? I couldn't just let that slide,"
Nikolas explained. "I told her she needed to kneel here and apologize to you."
Aimee was taken aback by the scene.
Siena, noticing Aimee's arrival, appeared far from her usual haughty self. Instead, her gaze was desperate, pleading.
"Miss Bates, I'm truly sorry! I was full of myself. I shouldn't have been so mean to you! Please, convince Nikolas to let go of my parents..."
A shiver ran down Aimee's spine at the plea.
“Siena, get up. I'm not holding a grudge," Aimee said softly.
But Siena shook her head, her voice breaking slightly. “No, please. Let me stay here. Nikolas said he might consider forgiving me if I kneel for ten hours."
Nikolas moved forward and took Aimee's hand, seemingly oblivious to Siena's presence on her knees.
"She made a mistake and needs to face the consequences. Let's head back. You don't seem to like this surprise. I'll plan another one."
"I don't want any surprises. Please help her to her feet." Aimee's heart ached for Siena. Despite Siena's previous arrogance and authoritative nature, her love for Nikolas was genuine. It was unfair for her to suffer like this. "I went ahead and registered our marriage today. I don't want to see anyone in tears here. It would make me happy if you could ask her to leave."
Nikolas looked into Aimee's eyes and realized she wasn't speaking in anger.
He nodded with a smile. "Alright. I'll help her up."
He then gave Siena a cold look.
"You need to leave now."
After a brief silence, Siena said, "What about my parents..."
“My wife just mentioned we're newlyweds, so today is a day for celebration. You are all excused."
Nikolas then walked Aimee into the villa, his arms wrapped around her waist.
Siena, who was meant to rise, collapsed back to the ground.
"Nikolas!"
Aimee turned immediately towards Siena.
Complex emotions swirled in Siena's eyes.
"Are you really... married?"
Aimee bit her lip, about to respond, when Nikolas tightened his hold on her.
