Chapter: 1128
“Today's my birthday."
Bethany was taken aback and found herself unable to decline.
“I'll let you know when I'm done working."
"Okay!"
After the call, Bethany organized her work and then searched for a bakery to order a birthday cake.
She couldn't arrive at his birthday celebration without a gift.
But she probably wasn't the only guest, right? Aimee would likely be there, and if Aimee attended, Nikolas would be there too.
Just to be safe, Bethany messaged Aimee.
She wanted to avoid any awkward situations for herself and Jayson.
Aimee's morning sickness was getting worse instead of better.
Yesterday, she barely managed to eat some cereal, which she ended up vomiting within an hour.
Nikolas was so worried that he nearly took Aimee to the hospital for an abortion.
"You need to eat more than just lemonade! Your stomach can't handle it," he said anxiously.
Aimee was lying curled up on the sofa, visibly weak and looking awful.
The doctor had mentioned that sour foods might help. But that was just a temporary relief.
“Just let me eat; I feel awful."
“Aimee, should I schedule the procedure?" Nikolas stood there, unable to keep still.
Aimee frowned at him. “Have you decided?"
“Yes! If you're suffering this much now, I can't imagine how you'll feel in the coming months. I don't want a child. Let's never have kids."
"Didn't you once say you wanted to be a dad? You were jealous of Jonathan for having Nola and Rowan."
Nikolas shook his head. "Not anymore. Just having you is enough."
"Can I have my phone?"
Nikolas remained silent.
"We're already married; you said we didn't need a child. So why am I stuck here?"
