Chapter: 1129
Nikolas tightened his lips and answered, “I'm scared you'll leave to somewhere I can't find you."
"There's no place you couldn't find." Aimee reached out her hand.
"Give me my phone. Maybe it will help with the nausea."
"Really?"
"Maybe! Ever heard of distraction?"
He looked surprised for a moment, then quickly said, “Wait here. I'LL get it!"
He rushed off but suddenly stopped.
“What's wrong?"
“Aimee, do you not want to proceed with the abortion?"
Was her request for distraction a sign that she might still want to keep the baby?
Aimee's face froze, and she looked away. "I'm just... afraid of the pain."
Nikolas immediately reassured her, "Don't worry, I'll find the best medical team for you. They'll help you deal with the pain and the risks of the surgery!"
Aimee frowned. She suddenly understood why Jonathan was the CEO and Nikolas was not. Nikolas' rigid thinking and straightforward approach might explain why he was suited to work under Jonathan rather than run a company himself.
"Go get my phone, okay?" she demanded.
"Okay."
Aimee couldn't bring herself to be the first to say, "I don't want the abortion anymore. I want to have your child."
Initially, she had been resolute about not having the baby, especially if it meant cutting ties with Nikolas and starting over.
But now, married to him, having a child seemed like an inevitable part of their future.
Nikolas’ willingness to forgo the child he longed for, just to spare her the difficulty of pregnancy, deeply moved Aimee.
Yet, she didn't want him to know how quickly her feelings had shifted, fearing that it might lead to more problems.
Bethany was on her way to the business registry when she received a call from Aimee.
Given the sensitive nature of due diligence work, she preferred to handle it herself.
“My cousin hasn't texted me about it," said Aimee.
“Maybe he's upset. He's still not happy about you and Nikolas. Why don't you try to smooth things over today?"
