Chapter: 116
So, Jonathan had left the hospital, and she had foolishly waited there the whole night.
She had been fretting over how to explain her actions regarding Jayson to Jonathan. Now, it seemed pointless. Jonathan didn't need any explanation.
Bethany was overwhelmed with thoughts.
She stumbled out of the hospital, her legs swollen from standing all night, feeling incredibly heavy.
She could hardly take a step. Spotting an open nearby restaurant, Bethany walked in, ordered something at random, and sat down to rest.
The restaurant owner brought over fried eggs and milk and gasped upon seeing Bethany's face.
"Oh my goodness! Miss, what happened to your face? It's bleeding."
The owner quickly went to fetch some medicine and iodine for Bethany.
At that, Bethany checked the injury on her face using her phone's front camera.
She just looked completely disheveled.
The skin near her eye was scratched, likely by Maddie's fingernails.
Then, perhaps because she had frowned just now, she aggravated the wound, and it started to bleed.
Her left cheek seemed particularly unlucky, having been slapped twice recently.
“Don't you feel any pain? Why are you laughing?"
The owner was warm-hearted. She helped Bethany apply iodine to clean the wound.
It must have been painful, yet Bethany was laughing. The owner couldn't help but wonder if something was off with this lovely Lady's head.
"Thank you. I can handle it from here." Bethany took the medicine and glanced at the fried eggs and milk on her table.
Jonathan always made those for breakfast.
That was probably why she had ordered them unconsciously.
Sometimes, habits could be painful.
Bethany didn't touch the food or continue tending to her wound. She simply sat quietly for a while, then left the money for the food and iodine on the table and departed.
Bethany hailed a taxi to East Shade Bay.
ALL her belongings were still there. Even if she was going to end her marriage with Jonathan, she needed to retrieve her things.
After Bethany entered the password and unlocked the door, the first thing she saw were rose petals scattered across the floor.
