Chapter: 1174
"Mr. Bates."
Jonathan looked up and fixed Brody with a steady gaze, causing him to falter.
“You didn't follow my instructions?"
“I did, Mr. Bates, but..."
"I specifically told you not to disclose my personal matters to Bethany."
Brody grimaced, knowing it was bound to reach Jonathan eventually.
"You refused all medical advice, and I was left with no choice! Originally, your trip to Ferindel was nearly ten days. You've pushed it to three, starting work at dawn. Now you've shortened it further to two days, without even three hours of rest."
At this rate, Jonathan might collapse.
It was impossible for anyone to maintain such a grueling schedule—handling meetings, business negotiations, signing contracts, and spending time with his children-all on barely any sleep.
“I can't sleep anyway. I need to return earlier. The headquarters need me."
“You're pushing yourself too hard for Ms. Holt..."
“What?"
Brody's voice was too low to be heard clearly by Jonathan.
“Nothing! But are you sure about cancelling your hospital appointment? You could easily go over the contract during an injection. It wouldn't delay your treatment."
Jonathan frowned.
While reviewing the contract wouldn't take long, he realized he could utilize the time during an injection for a meeting.
"I've already informed Ms. Holt. If you skip the hospital visit, I'll have to tell her if she asks. I can't lie to her!"
Jonathan was left speechless.
“Mr. Bates, may I leave now?" Brody was ready to exit.
Jonathan coughed and said in a low voice, "Don't cancel the appointment."
“Okay! I'll arrange transportation!"
As Brody turned to leave, Jonathan called out to stop him. "Did you find out what I asked you to?"
Brody paused, recalling the task. "Yes. I checked the surveillance footage from the lobby and called the delivery person who brought the flowers. Since it was a large bouquet, he remembered it. He picked it up from Midget's Flowers on Cermon Road."
Jonathan's brow furrowed. “And the point is?"
