Chapter: 1176
Or perhaps it was because the real issue hadn't been broached yet.
Considering this, Aimee nudged Nikolas. "You should tell them about the marriage."
Nikolas licked his lips and whispered, "Now?"
"Yes, while my dad is calm."
"And the pregnancy? Should we mention that too?"
Aimee immediately shook her head. "No, let's not overwhelm him with that yet."
Henson sat on the sofa, appearing to wait for someone.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Aimee's eyes darted towards the door.
It was Jayson!
Nikolas’ heart dropped.
Why was Jayson here?
“Uncle Henson!" Jayson greeted, entering with a selection of fruit and pastries.
"You didn't need to bring anything!" Henson said with a smile, guiding Jayson to the side. "I specifically asked you to come over for a reason."
Jayson glanced at Aimee and Nikolas seated together in the living room and nodded in understanding. "They've reconciled."
"You knew?" Henson was visibly surprised.
“They're sitting together, aren't they? Knowing Aimee, if they hadn't reconciled, Nikolas would be out on his ear by now."
Henson exhaled a deep sigh. "I'm still feeling unsure about all this. So, your aunt and I thought we'd get your take on it. Nikolas presented an unconditional property transfer contract. Though we aren't interested in his money, I believe this serves as a safeguard for Aimee."
"Let's take a look at it." Jayson followed Henson into the bedroom to review the contract.
Initially, Jayson suspected it was merely a gesture by Nikolas to seek forgiveness. However, upon examining the terms, he realized Nikolas had committed fully, leaving no room for backtracking.
The contract was legally solid, complete with endorsements from Nikolas’ parents.
“What's your opinion?" Henson asked, stepping closer.
"Uncle Henson, I'm aware they've reconciled," Jayson began, his expression serious. "They did tell me they were back together—on my birthday, actually.
"I had a feeling you knew. You and Aimee are so close."
