Chapter: 1177
"Then, it's settled. They should have the wedding soon. After all, we won't have much time before people find out Aimee's pregnant."
A wedding?
Pregnant?
Henson was stunned. The gravity of the situation took a moment to sink in.
“Aimee is pregnant?" he asked in disbelief.
Jayson nodded. “She didn't tell you?"
Henson nearly lost his balance and staggered a few steps.
Jayson quickly moved to support him, trying to calm him down. “I know this news is a shock, but they've been Living together for some time now, so a pregnancy is a natural outcome. Nikolas has also provided Aimee with a level of security that most men wouldn't."
"Why are you suddenly speaking up for Nikolas?" Henson had always thought Jayson didn't like Nikolas.
"It's not about taking sides. Aimee is already pregnant, so debating other issues is pointless. What matters now is her well-being. You're concerned about her getting hurt, right?"
Henson nodded, sighing. “Yes. The Bennett family is powerful. If they try to hurt her, I'm afraid she won't have the means to fight back.”
Jayson nodded in understanding. “Even if Aimee married an ordinary man, there's no guarantee he would be any better."
“You're right," Henson admitted, his tone softening.
Jayson smiled reassuringly. "Let them be. Nikolas is quite sincere about his intentions with her. It's not easy for him to do what he's done."
Henson pondered for a moment before nodding. "Indeed."
Outside the room, Aimee and Nikolas were filled with anxiety.
They were unsure whether to enter, fearing that Jayson might speak ill of Nikolas to her father.
After all, Nikolas was Jonathan's friend. It was understandable for Jayson to have reservations about him.
"Should I go knock on the door?" Nikolas asked, clearly anxious.
“Yes, go check," Aimee urged.
"Okay."
Nikolas had just stood up when he saw Jayson assisting Henson out of the room.
He quickly moved to support Henson on his other side.
When Henson didn't push him away, Nikolas felt a small sense of relief.
