Chapter: 1178
"Aimee, is there anything else you need to tell me?" Henson asked, his tone serious.
Aimee lowered her head, her voice barely above a whisper. "Dad, I... I'm pregnant. And Nikolas and I have already registered our marriage."
"This is incredibly reckless!" Henson scolded, his frustration evident.
Despite his outburst, he said nothing further.
After a long silence, he finally turned his gaze to Nikolas. “Given the situation, when do you plan to hold the wedding? I refuse to have my daughter walking down the aisle with a noticeable pregnancy. It's too embarrassing!"
“Whenever you say, sir. Even tomorrow, if that works," Nikolas replied earnestly.
Henson considered this for a moment before responding, “Let's plan for early next month. You two can choose a date."
"Understood!" Nikolas nodded eagerly, casting a glance at Jayson.
He wondered if Jayson thought he had agreed to his condition and was thus speaking up for him. Otherwise, Henson wouldn't have accepted the situation so easily.
With everything settled without any major issues, Aimee also breathed a sigh of relief.
While Henson took Nikolas into another room for a _ private conversation, Aimee turned to her cousin with a curious expression.
“Jayson, why did you suddenly..."
"Help you out, you mean?" Jayson finished for her.
"Yes."
Jayson gave a wry smile. “Bethany rejected me very clearly.”
Aimee looked down. "I was expecting that."
He sighed deeply. "I figured if I can't be with the girl I like, at least you and Nikolas can."
Aimee could see the sorrow etched across Jayson's face.
She likely knew better than anyone how deeply he loved Bethany.
"Jayson, you'll find someone else to love. You're still young."
Jayson shook his head. "No, I don't think I will. Don't worry about me. You have plenty to do with the wedding coming up. If you need anything, just let me know. Even though I'm not fond of your future husband, he treats you well."
Tears gathered in Aimee's eyes. “I'm sorry. You've been there for me, but I couldn't do the same for you."
“There's no need to apologize. I'm not good enough for Bethany. I can't force these things."
Jayson had often considered this outcome. He knew the chances of Bethany reciprocating his feelings were nearly nonexistent.
