Chapter: 1185
Bethany frowned on the bed, and it was unclear whether she had heard him.

She turned away and pulled her hand back.

After standing silently by her bed for a while, Jonathan turned off the light, left the room, and closed the door behind him.

Outside, Nola and Rowan watched their father with wide eyes.

“Why did you stop playing with your toys?"

Jonathan walked over and gently ruffled their hair.

“Daddy, is Mommy sleeping?"

"Yes, she's asleep."

"Then where will Mommy take us tomorrow?" Nola asked, always eager for new adventures.

"Where would you like to go?"

Jonathan settled onto the sofa, lifting Nola into his lap and stroking her hair affectionately.

"To the candy store! Mommy will buy me lots of candies!"

Rowan, setting aside his tablet, joined them. "You wish! You know Mommy said you shouldn't eat too many candies!"

“What if Mommy says it's okay?"

Jonathan couldn't help but smile at his daughter's bargaining.

His daughter was the easiest to persuade.

She could be easily swayed with just a few lollipops.

"Nola." Jonathan's tone grew serious. “If you ever want something, come to me. Don't accept things from strangers. Just tell them your daddy will buy it for you."

It was crucial to instill this lesson early to safeguard her from potential harm over something as trivial as candy.

Nola, not fully grasping the gravity of his words, clapped her hands joyfully. “Okay! I love you, Daddy!"

She hugged him tightly and peppered his face with kisses.

“Well, it's bedtime now. It's late."

He rose from the sofa, lifting Nola with one arm and guiding his son with the other.

"I want to play a little longer!"
