Chapter: 120
In his presence, she was always cautious and evasive.

She seemed fearful of entangling herself with him beyond their contractual agreement.

"Did she know I was in a car accident?" Jonathan's voice was extremely hoarse.

"Yes. Maddie was outraged, so she called Bethany."

"Did she come here?" Jonathan asked urgently.

Hesitating, Nikolas altered the response he had intended to give.

"Yes, she did. But she left quite quickly. She didn't even wait outside the emergency room."

Jonathan fell silent.

“I told you she doesn't have feelings for you. No matter how much effort you put in, you'll only end up hurting yourself. You're the CEO of Bates Group. You could have any woman you want. Why set your heart on her?"

Nikolas continued to speak, but Jonathan seemed to tune him out.

After a pause, Jonathan finally spoke. "Did she really leave soon?"

After a few seconds, Nikolas nodded. "Yes! Did you see her when they moved you out of the emergency room?"

No.

But that was because he had been transferred to another emergency room, and Bethany wasn't aware of it.

“Forget it! Tell me, has she called you yet? If she really cared about you, wouldn't she have at least sent a message?"

Nikolas' words stung Jonathan.

Indeed, since the accident, Jonathan hadn't received any messages from Bethany.

"Wake up, Jonathan. Someone else is more suitable for you, someone who genuinely cares about you."

Nikolas was clearly referring to Maddie.

But Jonathan just pursed his lips and remained silent, his gaze locked on his phone screen.

Seeing him like this, Nikolas sighed and said, “Alright. I guess there's no use in what I say. You need to figure this out on your own. Do you need help packing? You have a business trip tonight."

"No need. I'll drive back to East Shade Bay myself."

"You still want to see her?" Nikolas was incredulous. He knew Bethany lived in East Shade Bay.

“My clothes are there."
