Chapter: 150
This sent Bethany's heart racing.
"It's the truth. I didn't deceive you."
"I know you didn't lie to me."
Bethany was left speechless.
"But you never planned to tell your mom the truth from the start, did you?" She would rather have someone impersonate him than reveal his true identity.
Bethany took this as obvious.
“Of course not."
Suddenly, Jonathan hit the brakes, jerking them both forward until the car halted at the roadside.
Bethany stared at him, shocked and puzzled.
The next moment, a punitive kiss from Jonathan caught her completely off guard.
He couldn't fathom why he had fallen for such a foolish woman. He was literally at a loss for words.
The kiss was so abrupt that Bethany almost felt like she was suffocating before she managed to push him away forcefully.
"What are you doing?"
Now, Jonathan's lips bore a trace of her lipstick, and his shirt, tugged by her, seemed casually disheveled.
Silence filled the car.
After a long pause, Jonathan asked, “Bethany, what more can I do to make you understand?"
"What?"
Bethany was still baffled.
She wondered if the car accident had scrambled Jonathan's thoughts since he made remarks she couldn't understand.
"I'll give you more time to think. Let's head back to the hotel now."
With those words, Jonathan sat back in the driver's seat, his voice tinged with irritation.
Bethany noticed Jonathan hesitate as if he wanted to say more, but then thought better. Gathering her courage, she finally asked, “Are you planning to end our marriage? If that's the case, I'm okay with it.”
She wouldn't obstruct his potential reconciliation with Maddie.
At a loss for words, Jonathan massaged his forehead.
