Chapter: 166
Still half-asleep, Bethany reached for the phone with a sore hand.

Carson's name Lit up the screen.

What could he want so early?

“Hello, Mr. Smith," she greeted.

“Bethany, did you leak the Zucron Company project information?"

Carson's voice was urgent, almost frantic.

Bethany quickly snapped awake and sat up in bed. “No, I didn't. What's going on?"

"The core technical drawings for the Zucron Company project have been leaked. The CEO is on his way to Ensson Corporation right now."

The core technical drawings of Zucron Company...

Bethany suddenly remembered that during a business trip in Brokdon, Maddie had requested them.

However, she was fiercely loyal to Bates Group, making it unlikely for her to disclose them.

“Think this through. You and I are the only ones authorized to access this project. No third party is involved. If there are serious repercussions, we'll both be accountable!" Carson warned.

Disclosing crucial technical data is a major violation in the investment sector.

Should this breach be confirmed, the industry might blacklist the company involved. Even with Bates Group's backing, the scandal could tarnish Ensson Corporation. Carson, who was directly connected to this project, could be ostracized by his peers.

"I once forwarded them Maddie Hinchcliffe at our main office. She said she needed them."

“Who? Maddie Hinchcliffe?"

“Yes, the lead attorney for Bates Group."

Carson exploded. “Why didn't you consult me before sending them? Bethany, have you lost your senses?"

"She is an integral part of Bates Group and has contributed significantly. She endorsed the project agreement. I don't believe she would disclose them." Bethany felt anxious too. "Perhaps someone at Zucron Company shared the drawings.”

“You'd better hope we're not to blame!" Carson took a moment, then added, “Send me proof that Maddie requested the drawings. If this is Ensson Corporation's mistake, the main office will dispatch an investigator. I can't manage this crisis alone."

“Alright, I'll send it right away."

After ending the call, Bethany frantically searched for the email Maddie had sent her.

Despite her efforts, she couldn't find the email.

Bethany logged into her email again to check the record of her sending the email to Maddie but discovered that the email account had been deactivated.
