Chapter: 336
“Our top priority is sorting out the demolition issue now. We can handle the employee after we secure the land."
"Alright, I'll leave it to you. Thanks, Bethany, for taking care of this personally."
Bethany waved him off. “That's my job."
As Colt turned to leave, Bethany unexpectedly called after him.
"Colt, our investor for the resort project is GrandFuture Investment, right?"
"Yes," Colt replied, looking puzzled. "Didn't you check the bid documents?"
She had indeed read the documents, which left her puzzled upon seeing Brody at the site.
Had he possibly left Bates Group?
"GrandFuture Investment must have strong financial backing to secure such a large sum."
Colt waved dismissively. "Well, GrandFuture wouldn't have the funding for this project if Bates Group hadn't acquired them."
Bethany stood still, stunned. "They're part of Bates Group now?"
"You didn't know? These days, almost every investment firm has some tie to Bates Group."
Colt nodded approvingly. "I have to say, I admire their CEO! Young, talented, and so accomplished! And he's quite good-looking and really knows his stuff. By the way, I couldn't help but notice that your daughter bears a striking resemblance with him!"
Bethany was stunned when she heard what Colt said. "Really?" She tried her best to look calm.
"Absolutely! Two years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Bates. He left quite an impression. Your daughter resembles him strikingly."
“Isn't that quite a coincidence," Bethany remarked casually. She had already made plans to shield Nola from exposure to anyone in the business world, be it colleagues or superiors.
Although there was still a huge gap between her and Jonathan and she had little chance of encountering him, others might notice the resemblance between him and Nola.
“By the way, I've never had the pleasure of meeting your husband. Judging by how adorable your little one is, he must be quite handsome. Whenever you get the chance, do bring him around so we can all meet."
Colt was truly impressed by the woman standing before him.
She had indeed risen from humble beginnings to become the director.
During Goldwald Company's multiple crises, it was she who tirelessly persuaded investors, and reportedly, even when success seemed unlikely, she boldly made a solemn vow to the board-fail to reach an agreement and she would resign.
The man who wedded a woman of such integrity must also be a remarkable figure.
“He's tied up with work. I hardly get to see him myself! Once he's a bit more free, I'll get him to treat everyone to dinner," Bethany said.
“That's a commitment!"
