Chapter: 385
Ryan exhaled, the topic of Bethany bringing a sigh. "Why couldn't I have met her first? Her husband must be quite remarkable for her to be so devoted."
Nikolas raised an eyebrow. "Have you met her husband?"
“No, but it's obvious she truly loves him." The conversation continued as Ryan and Nikolas made their way to the car, and it persisted even after they were seated. “When you meet her, you'll understand. She's perfect."
"Fine, I'll take a good look! And if it doesn't pan out, maybe I can step in for you."
"I invited her to dinner, but she was so cautious around me that she only agreed if Colt could come too," Ryan said, exhaling a heavy sigh.
Over the years, Ryan had encountered many women, each captivating in her own way. Even those who played hard to get eventually warmed up with a bit of persistence. He had always believed that with enough effort, no one was beyond his reach.
But Bethany proved to be the exception.
She was immune to his usual tactics, meticulously ensuring they were never alone. Any professional perks he extended as her boss were accepted strictly on merit; anything beyond that, she declined.
This unyielding integrity was precisely what made her so intriguing to him.
Ryan imagined that with a wife like her, he could rest easy, confident she would not be swayed by temptation and would remain loyally by his side.
The car pulled up in front of the hotel.
Just as Nikolas was about to step out, Ryan caught his arm, offering a word of caution. "She's not fond of jokes. Try not to overdo it."
"Don't worry! I need to make a good impression on her!"
Nikolas chuckled, then waved as he exited the car.
Stepping out, he recognized a very familiar figure.
Bethany.
Nikolas stood frozen, as if struck by lightning, motionless for what seemed an eternity before he started rubbing his eyes vigorously.
Was he hallucinating?
Bethany was in Westsilver!
No wonder Jonathan had changed a lot after his visit here.
“What are you doing just standing there? Get in the restaurant!" Ryan, having just exited the car, noticed Nikolas in a daze and hadn't yet seen Bethany.
"I just saw someone I know." Nikolas pointed to Bethany in the distance.
Ryan followed his gaze and chuckled. "You know her?"
"Yes, she's—"
