Chapter: 432
But Liza's carefree nature wasn't a problem; it made things less stressful.
When they finished eating, Bethany took them for a walk around the neighborhood before returning to the hotel.
She had planned to rest a bit before discussing work, but Jaden had already sent over his materials, making her feel like she was Lagging behind as a leader.
Bethany had no choice but to grab her laptop and head to the small conference room she had reserved at the hotel.
Working in any of their rooms just wouldn't cut it.
As she walked through the hotel lobby, Bethany was about to call Liza when she spotted a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.
But then, she blinked, and the person was gone.
She couldn't even be sure if she had really seen anyone.
It looked so much like Jonathan. But he wasn't supposed to be in Brokdon. That would be too much of a coincidence.
"Ms. Holt," Jaden said, walking up to Bethany.
Bethany nodded slightly. "Where's Liza? Did you get in touch with her?"
Jaden replied, "Yes, she had too much spicy food and now has a stomachache. I told her to come down as soon as she can."
Bethany's brow furrowed with worry. "Is it bad? Do we need to take her to the hospital?"
“Let's ask her when she gets here. I'm not sure." Jaden couldn't help but keep sneaking glances at Bethany's face, his attempts to act casual failing.
She was truly beautiful.
The kind of beauty could draw any man's attention.
Bethany's beauty wasn't flashy. It was natural and pure, the kind that seemed effortlessly perfect-every man's dream.
Even though she was older and his boss, making it inappropriate to have any thoughts about her, he couldn't help but glance her way.
Just then, Liza came downstairs, clutching her stomach and looking very uncomfortable.
Bethany rushed over to her. "Are you feeling that bad?"
Liza nodded, grimacing. "Yeah... I think I might have gastritis from all the spicy food."
"Let's get you to the hospital!" Bethany turned to Jaden. "We'll postpone work today. You should rest. I'll take her to the hospital."
Jaden paused, then walked over and scooped Liza up in his arms.
“It's not safe for you two to go alone. I'll come with you."
