Chapter: 434
The doctor mentioned that Liza didn't need anyone to stay with her.

If she felt fine in the morning, she could go home, so no extra bed was provided.

"I'll be okay. I know Brokdon well," Bethany said.

"You still shouldn't be alone. You're my boss during work hours, but now it's off-duty. I'm a man. How can I leave a woman by herself?"

His protective tone made Bethany chuckle.

She never felt protected as a child. But as an adult, many people had said things like this to her.

“Thank you then."

Liza was fast asleep in the bed, thanks to the medication.

Bethany and Jaden sat together, exchanging glances. With nothing else to do, they began to chat.

When they talked about family, Jaden was caught off guard. "Ms. Holt, you're married! I didn't expect that."

"I've been married for a long time." Bethany didn't mention her children this time.

She preferred to keep that part of her life to herself for now.

“Then your husband must love you a lot." Jaden's voice had a slight undertone of disappointment.

He hadn't asked much about her personal life, so he didn't know she was married.

“Yes, he loves me so much."

Just as Bethany finished her sentence, her phone buzzed.

She thought it was Ryan, but when she checked, it was a message from the driver from Westsilver.

At this hour? Why would he text so late?

"I'm sorry to bother you! I got lost as soon as I arrived in Brokdon. Can you tell me the way?" the driver's message read.

After a moment of hesitation, Bethany made a quick call and walked out of the ward.

The corridor outside seemed to stretch on forever.

Late at night, it was quiet and filled with the scent of disinfectant.

Feeling somewhat anxious, Bethany didn't wander far and found a nearby bench to sit on.

When the voice call connected, she heard the driver's voice.
