Chapter: 445
A cunning smile crept across his face. "Tell me, how much did you put in the wine? Please don't make tonight too much for me. I'm already forty years old, you know."
"You don't need to worry. I've seen your message. The amount I've added is just right. You're still in your prime, so there shouldn't be any issues."
Wesley placed the steak on Brenden's plate and gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Brenden, I see a bright future for you."
Just a moment ago, Brenden held back his darker intentions, but that didn't mean he had given up on using Bethany to gain favor.
In any case, if something went wrong, Wesley would be the one to face the consequences. If everything went smoothly, he would still impress the boss. So why not go for it?
After serving Bethany a drink, Brenden had covertly messaged Wesley.
Wesley had responded swiftly, instructing Brenden to ensure Bethany would be unable to resist.
As time passed, even after they finished their steaks, Bethany hadn't returned from the restroom.
Wesley sensed something was amiss.
He glanced at Brenden, "Go check on her; maybe she's had too much."
"Okay!" Brenden made his way towards the restroom.
However, Bethany was nowhere to be found, and there was no sign of anyone else around.
A sense of unease gripped him, but he reasoned that if Bethany had decided to leave, she would have mentioned it.
It was unlike her to just disappear-unless she was incapacitated and someone had taken advantage of the situation.
Concerned, Brenden pulled out his phone and tried calling Bethany, but received no response.
After a moment of thought, he dialed Ryan's number. "Hello? Mr. Blakely?"
“Yes. Hello. What's going on?"
Brenden quickly explained, "I'm a manager at Owlimited Company. We were having dinner, and Ms. Holt seemed to enjoy herself, had a bit to drink, and then went to the restroom but hasn't returned. She's not answering her phone now."
“What? She drank?" Ryan's voice suddenly raised. "Did you make her drink?"
Brenden quickly tried to clarify, "Not at all, sir. We were just chatting pleasantly, and our leader brought a bottle of wine. Ms. Holt chose to join us..."
“Find her now! And if you can't, call the police. I won't let you off the hook if anything happens to her!"
The call ended abruptly, leaving Brenden momentarily stunned before he hurried off.
Wesley, noticing his return without Bethany, inquired, “Where is she?"
"She's missing! I called her, but no answer, so I reached out to her boss. He's very concerned about her." Brenden hesitated, then added, "Mr. Wesley, I think... we should be careful with this situation. We don't want to provoke Goldwald Company. Let's just say she drank too much and we lost track of her."
