Chapter: 456
“Friend? A man or a woman?" Ryan's tone was almost accusatory, as if he were questioning a partner.

Still feeling the aftereffects of the night before, Bethany rubbed her temples and replied, “A man. But don't worry, nothing inappropriate happened. I drank a lot last night. I don't even remember if I said goodbye to people from Owlimited Company when I left. Will they be upset? I'll head over to their company later!"

Work was still on her mind.

Ryan scoffed, “You don't need to go. They lost track of you, so I beat their CEO."

“What the hell?" Bethany snapped awake. “What have you done? How can we collaborate after such actions? Ryan, why would you be so rash?"

Yesterday, she hadn't wanted to drink, but she had to secure the contract, so she drank reluctantly, leading to her current headache.

But now, Ryan's impulsive actions threatened everything.

"Let's set aside the discussion of cooperation for now. They dared to pressure you into drinking. I wouldn't let them off easily!"

"Wait... Are you in Brokdon?"

"Of course! You were missing. How could I just sit back? I flew here overnight."

Bethany's headache seemed resistant to any relief.

"Let's discuss this when I get back to the hotel."

After ending the call, Bethany pondered how to mend the relationship with Owlimited Company. The collaboration promised substantial profits, and Owlimited Company seemed eager to finalize the deal, suggesting a strong likelihood of signing the contract.

However, her getting drunk had led to an unexpected complication.

Upon reaching the hotel, Bethany hurried upstairs and found Ryan, Jaden, and Liza waiting outside her room.

Jaden and Liza apologized. "Sorry, Ms. Holt. We shouldn't have left."

Bethany waved her hand and said, "Don't say that. You two didn't do anything wrong! Jaden, I asked you to take Liza back. How could I blame you?"

Tears welled up in Liza's eyes. "But if I could have handled my drink better, you wouldn't have had to.."

"I've been in the workplace for many years and still can't handle much alcohol. There's no fault on your part." Bethany then turned to Ryan and sighed. "Jaden, Liza, please go back to your rooms and wait for me. I need to speak with Ryan alone."

After Jaden and Liza left, Bethany took out her room card and unlocked the door.

Ryan followed her inside and observed her, as if trying to read her thoughts.

"You got drunk and ended up staying in a different hotel for one night?"

With a frown, Bethany poured herself some water to soothe her upset stomach. "Or what?"

"Did the people from Owlimited Company do anything else to you?"
