Chapter: 457
"I don't believe they did. We were only drinking." Bethany was completely unaware at the time, having been unconscious.

In her view, her poor tolerance for alcohol was the issue. She even worried that her inability to entertain Owlimited Company's leader properly might jeopardize their collaboration.

“Bethany, they must have put something in your wine," Ryan finally explained to her.

He needed to know what Bethany had done after being drugged.

Bethany paused, then asked in shock, “Drugged?"

"Yes! If you're doubtful, let's get a blood test done now. We might still detect the drug."

Bethany's mind went blank. She struggled to process the information.

Yet, she was sure that the men from Owlimited Company hadn't succeeded in their intentions.

"Don't worry. I'm here, safe and sound," Bethany reassured as she sipped the water and pondered for a moment. "Did they confess?"

"It wouldn't matter if they did not!"

"Then we can leverage this situation to make them concede. We can dictate the terms of the contract."

It wasn't that Bethany didn't care about her safety, but she believed there was no harm done since their plan had failed.

Such misconduct was a critical mistake. Wesley wouldn't risk his reputation and his company's standing on such a gamble.

“Bethany! Can you stop focusing on work for once?" Ryan was clearly frustrated. “These people had malicious intentions towards you. You should be thinking about how to make them face consequences!"

“Setting our own terms for the cooperation could be their punishment, couldn't it?" Seeing Ryan upset, Bethany tried to calm him. "I'm confident I was rescued by a friend. My friend is trustworthy.

"But how did you manage to get rid of the drug?" Ryan asked.

Bethany was taken aback. She hadn't considered that until now.

But it couldn't have been the driver who assisted her, could it?

Ryan noticed Bethany's expression and stepped forward, seizing her wrist. "Come on, I'm taking you to the hospital to get a blood test and find out if anything happened to you last night!"

Bethany initially went along subconsciously, but then she abruptly pulled away.

"No, I won't go. You're overthinking it. Nothing happened to me! I just drank too much last night, and that countered any drug effects!"

She didn't want to think further about the driver...

“Do you really trust your friend that much?" Ryan asked.

"Yes! I trust him completely."
