Chapter: 458
Ryan clenched his teeth and said, "Fine, then I have nothing more to add. But forget about any deal with Owlimited Company."

"Why?"

“Qwlimited Company no longer exists."

What was there left to say?

Bethany took it as a joke and said, “Stop kidding around. I'm serious."

“I'm being honest with you. Owlimited Company shut down this morning. Their stock plummeted, and shareholders dumped it. The bank sued them for advance repayment, and now Wesley is nowhere to be found."

Bethany felt as though she hadn't fully awakened yet, processing the words she just heard.

How could Owlimited Company just go bankrupt overnight?

That was absurd.

"Did you do this?" she asked.

Ryan's body tensed for a moment before he nodded. “Yes, I did it. I wanted them to pay the price! They dared to drug you; how could I just stand by?"

"You didn't have to go that far! You could have simply issued them a warning! This secondary processing of agricultural products isn't just beneficial and profitable for our company, but it also supports agricultural development. It's a significant initiative. Do you realize how many farmers were counting on us to sign that contract?"

These days, the number of farmers was dwindling, primarily because farming wasn't very profitable.

If secondary processing could be implemented, it would undoubtedly set a new trend and increase the farmers’ incomes.

Ryan pursed his lips and stood before her, looking like a child who had been caught doing something wrong. "I was just upset about them hurting you; I didn't consider the broader impact."

In reality, it wasn't he who had pushed Owlimited Company to bankruptcy.

But he couldn't admit that to Bethany.

He needed to make her believe he had the power to influence such outcomes. After all, women often admire men who are capable and influential. Regardless of who was actually behind Owlimited Company's downfall, he felt compelled to take credit.

“So, what do we do now? Is there any way to restore Owlimited Company—"

"Bethany, you should focus on your well-being right now! Leave the business concerns to me. I promise to continue with the secondary processing project. I'll find another company to partner with, okay?"

“Really?”

"Absolutely." Ryan's affirmation was as firm as a vow. "I won't let your hard work be in vain. I'll make sure your efforts are rewarded!"

Bethany sighed.

Given the circumstances, she felt powerless to change the outcome.
