After a lengthy pause, Jonathan finally broke the silence. “Are you serious?"

"I am serious!" Nikolas was about to cry. "I was with the child last night. I bathed him and took him out for dinner. Many people in the company saw him. You can ask around. He resembles you!"

"You should find him. I must see and find this child." Jonathan remained calm and didn't place blame on Nikolas.

"I'm doing my best! I just worry they might be hiding him..."

"We have to find him, no matter what."

Jonathan needed to clarify the connection between himself and the child.

The boy resembled him so closely. Deep down, Jonathan questioned if this was all just a prank.

If the child truly was his, that meant Bethany must have given birth to him.

Jonathan knew if the boy's mother wasn't Bethany, there was no way the child could be his son.

Bethany was the only one whom he had sex with.

When Ryan heard rumors of Jonathan potentially having an illegitimate child, he was probably the most thrilled.

The news had him wide awake.

It was still early, and not wanting to disturb Bethany's sleep, he refrained from calling right away. He waited until noon.

After a few rings, Bethany answered.

Her voice was somewhat hoarse, maybe from anxiety.

"Hello, Ryan."

“Have you found your daughter yet?"

Bethany was about to say no, but upon hearing him mention her daughter, she quickly said, "Yes."

"That's great!" Ryan let out a sigh of relief.

“But my daughter is quite attached to me, so it might take me a bit longer to return to work. Could I possibly extend my leave?"

"No problem at all! I'm at the office, and if any issues arise, I'll take care of them. Just focus on spending time with your daughter!"

Ryan reassured her with a smile. “And don't worry about Jonathan discovering anything about your daughter right now."

"Hmm?"

Ryan subtly shifted the conversation towards Jonathan's illegitimate child.
