Chapter: 512
"Just hand it over." Jonathan was accommodating and stood to leave after obtaining the information.
As he was about to exit, his phone rang. It was Brody.
Anticipating news about the child, he picked up right away. "Did you find him?"
“No. Mr. Bates, I think you need to see our company's website."
Brody's voice carried a note of hesitation, as though he was reluctant to say more.
Jonathan scowled and pulled up Bates Group's website. "Who posted this?"
"No idea! It appears our company's software has been compromised with a virus. Many of the executives’ accounts are out of control. The account that manages the website's homepage is completely locked out now. Whoever did this can post anything they want on our site."
This was a major scandal in the corporate world.
The other companies must be watching the chaos unfold.
“Shut down the website and all servers."
“Understood, I'll handle it now."
After Jonathan hung up, Nikolas called, as if he had been waiting in line to reach Jonathan.
Jonathan's first question was, "Have you found the child?"
"No. I'm calling to ask about the website. What's going on? Did you piss someone off? That brat called you a jerk dad, and now hackers are attacking your company's software, posting that!"
"What did the kid call me?"
"A jerk dad!"
Nikolas paused for a moment before suggesting, "Could your son have posted this?"
Jonathan responded, "So, the child should be safe for the moment."
"Why do you always look at things differently from everyone else?"
Jonathan raised his hand to his forehead. “He's just a kid. What if someone kidnapped him? It's simple to shut down a website, but what if something worse happens to him?"
He generally didn't care about others’ opinions. His main concern was the child's safety.
Nikolas chuckled and said, “Are you already starting to worry about your son?"
"First, let's locate him and ensure he's safe." After a pause, Jonathan added, "I'm particularly worried about Maddie. She's aware of the child's existence and might harbor harmful intentions."
Nikolas nearly agreed aloud, but instead pressed his lips together.
