Chapter: 528
Jayson led Bethany to a Luxurious hotel and booked two adjoining rooms.
"The beds are incredibly comfortable here. I know from a business stay once. Get some rest, and we'll touch base tomorrow when it's time to go," he mentioned.
Bethany nodded and murmured, "Thank you."
"There's no need for thanks! Go on in."
As Bethany disappeared into her room, Jayson lingered at his own door, not entering but simply standing there.
Moments later, he heard the neighboring door creak open again.
Bethany reemerged.
A bitter smile twisted Jayson's Lips.
Bethany was off to find Jonathan.
More specifically, she was headed to East Shade Bay.
That place was a repository of their cherished memories, marking the first time in her life she had felt truly valued and loved.
Throughout her life, from childhood to her adult years, her mother's love, though genuine, was suffocating and controlling. She loved Bethany intensely but never considered the weight of her expectations, only aiming to steer her away from her own past mistakes.
Aimee cared for her too, but it was the love of a friend. Aimee had her own family, her own life and social circle, making Bethany a secondary concern.
Only Jonathan offered her genuine, tender care. He approached her with a cautious, protective love, ever fearful of committing a misstep.
Jonathan didn't go in for the grand, ostentatious gestures that other suitors favored, the kind that turned public affection into a spectacle and left Bethany feeling uncomfortable.
Instead, he prioritized her emotions, always placing her feelings ahead of his actions.
His affection was understated but ever-present.
Bethany mused that many women might go their whole lives without knowing such genuine affection.
Yet here she was, a girl from a humble background, who had once fully possessed it.
Now, standing once more at East Shade Bay, Bethany Looked up to see that the living room lights were on.
Jonathan was probably working.
At this late hour, as the CEO, he likely had many international meetings to manage.
Many viewed Jonathan as a blessed man, born into prosperity. However, those close to him recognized the tremendous effort he invested-effort that surpassed that of the average person.
He immersed himself in every facet of the company, never dodging responsibilities, even as the CEO.
