Nikolas' father spotted Ryan and approached him. “I appreciate you coming."

“With my connection to Nikolas, how could I not be here in a situation like this? What do you know?"

“The police are still looking into it. What we know is that another car hit Nikolas from behind at high speed, leaving severe damage."

“What's the situation with the driver?"

“He's still in critical condition. He's not out of danger yet."

Overwhelmed by a recent string of troubles, Ryan let out a sigh.

At that moment, Kai glanced up and waved at a figure.

Ryan turned his gaze instinctively.

Jonathan showed up.

This marked their second meeting since they last ran into each other outside the restaurant.

Considering the situation and with Kai around, Ryan couldn't confront Jonathan. He could only observe as Jonathan talked to Kai.

Unlike Ryan's obvious anger, Jonathan maintained his composure.

Dressed impeccably in a suit, he radiated his typical aloofness and nobility, as if the hostile takeover of Goldwald Company and the pressure on Ryan were entirely separate from him.

"I'm heading back to the company. I'll be back when Dr. Smith arrives in Odonset," Jonathan stated.

"Sure! Let me walk you out." Just as Kai was about to move, Ryan jumped in.

"I'll walk him out. Mr. Bennett, you should stay here."

Kai felt uneasy about accepting it. He glanced at Johnathan, waiting for his response.

Once Johnathan nodded, Kai replied, “Okay, thanks, Ryan!"

“Not a problem, Ryan said, trailing after Johnathan as they exited the hospital."

Outside, ensuring they weren't being followed, Ryan rushed to stand in Jonathan's way.

“What's the meaning of this?" Ryan snapped.

“What?" Jonathan asked.

“Using these tactics to chase Bethany is just plain shameless!"

Jonathan laughed Lightly as he unbuttoned his shirt cuffs. "I bought Goldwald Company because I wanted to. What does that have to do with Bethany?"
