Chapter: 606
She was afraid Jonathan might find a reason to make her sit in the front passenger seat.

Jonathan, absorbed in the task of loading groceries into the car, didn't comment on her change of seating arrangement. He simply settled into the driver's seat, started the engine, and headed to East Shade Bay.

Rowan had been waiting for Jonathan for a long time.

When he finally heard the sound of the password being entered, he darted to the door. “You're finally back..."

Rowan stopped mid-sentence, his surprise evident as he noticed Bethany standing beside Jonathan.

The three stood there, each absorbed in their own contemplations.

Jonathan broke the silence with a warm smile, gently patting Rowan's head. "I'll handle the cooking. Rowan, can you assist me in entertaining our guest?"

Rowan hesitated briefly, then reluctantly nodded in agreement.

As Jonathan made his way towards the kitchen, Bethany seized the moment to pull Rowan aside discreetly. "Did you say something to him?"

"No, nothing!"

“Then why did he invite me over after what happened last time?"

Bethany's intuition was sharp; she sensed there was more to Jonathan's gesture than met the eye.

Rowan licked his Lips nervously. "He scolded me after you left. He said you're his love, and I should get along with you."

Bethany was rendered speechless.

“Mommy! Come, sit here! I'll go help him in the kitchen!"

After that, Rowan dashed off.

There was no way he could stay any longer. A few more questions and he would slip up.

Sneaking into the kitchen, Rowan closed the door behind him and spoke with a hint of reproach in his tone. “Why did you bring Mommy here again? She suspects I told you something!"

"Relax, buddy! Just don't admit to anything, and she can't do anything to you."

Rowan pouted, folding his arms defiantly. "Didn't you say kids shouldn't lie?"

Jonathan wiped his wet hands on a towel, then bent down and scooped up his son.

“If I hadn't brought her back, she would've left with Jayson." How could he let that happen?

Jayson's feelings towards Bethany were all too clear.

Rowan tilted his head, his brow furrowed in thought before a sudden realization dawned on him. "Oh! I get it! Jayson is your love rival, right? You're afraid he'll take Mommy away, and you won't have a wife!"
